Follow these tips from NYRR medical director Stuart Weiss, MD, in training and on race day. Monday 10.24 – (1) Drink For Thirst (2) Before you run, check the color of your urine (3) In training, weigh yourself before and after your runs (4) Take salt before and during runs and races of 10K or longer (5) Avoid NSAIDS (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) (6) Don’t take anti-diarrheal or cold medicines on race day.
