Bennett & Dye Win Boulder Peak Triathlon

LEG LUBE: Laura Bennett couldn’t have asked for more Sunday in her final tuneup race for the Olympic triathlon. Bennett finished her 1.5 kilometer swim in 19:40, nearly three full minutes ahead of her nearest competitor in the women’s pro race. Melissa Rollison, the defending 70.3 world champion, was able to cut into Bennett’s lead a bit during the 42 kilometer cycling portion, but she had no chance to catch her on the run and finished second 95 seconds behind Bennett. Boulder native Cameron Dye, a product of Fairview High School, won the men’s race. He produced the second fastest time of the day on the bike, finishing that leg in 57:51. But Dye said when made the transition from his bike to the run and someone told him Bennett had a 3 minute lead, he didn’t expect to be able to catch her. Read the whole article at:
